Geoff Powell is a long established hatha yoga teacher having trained in the Iyengar technique in the 1970’s in London with Silva Mehta and Mr B.K.S. Iyengar, Geoff also taught at the Iyengar Institute in London when it first opened its doors to the public. He is a skilled teacher having been a Touch for Health instructor over a number of years as well as a four-year spell as a tutor at Bangor University.
He moved to Snowdonia in North Wales over 35 years ago where he has lived and taught since then. During that time he trained as a complementary health therapist and ran a private practise as an Applied Kinesiologist and NLP practitioner for over 20 years. He has made a specialism of stress management and was, for a number of years, the facilitator of the Gwynedd Mental Health Care Unit’s stress management courses as well as working for private companies delivering stress management seminars and working with individual employees.

Through his training as a therapist he has gained a wide knowledge of nutrition, physical structure and mental ability techniques which brings a broad perspective to his yoga teaching. He is also a registered Senior teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals.
Geoff runs a number of local classes in the Bangor and Caernarfon area, as well as organising annual residential yoga courses in a number of different venues which have included Crete, the French Pyrenees and Turkey and, nearer to home, Snowdonia.
